Volunteers are needed to feed, keep pets clean, and look after and rescue the animals at Louisiana shelters, and animal charity shelters that are looking after evacuee pets from New Orleans. Keep rescuing, but make sure you record where an animal is found, and that you post that information and a photograph on petfinder.com so that families can check for their family pets. Foster homes are needed and shelters have pets available for adoption. Keep calling George Bush and the federal government to let them know you want the patrols of National Guards and the army to be involved in mandatory rescues of animals.
