Kevin Zeese: “Both Parties Selling Country to Highest Bidder!”
Kevin Zeese, an independent candidate for U.S. Senate in Maryland, accused both parties, Democrats and Republicans, of “selling the country to the highest bidder.” He spoke at a Forum, in Baltimore, MD, on June 4, 2006. Zeese emphasized the importance of breaking the straightjacket the two parties have on the voters in order to give them a real choice. Zeese also underscored that our fragile environment is headed for a global disaster, unless serious policy changes are made within the next five to ten years. (image/jpeg)

text Help Us with a Book about Indymedia NYC-IMC Print Team 2006-06-04 11:36 AM
This book would not attempt to be the definitive statement on Indymedia. Rather, it would be an overview of some of the triumphs and struggles of the network over the past five-and-a-half years. Its entries would range from dramatic, stream-of-thought, first-person pieces to more analytic chapters on the meaning of Indymedia. The book, while thoughtful, would avoid being overly academic and would be graphic/picture heavy. For full proposal, see: http://www.indybook.org (text/plain)

text THERE IS NO "WAR ON TERRORISM" LARRY EVEREST 2006-06-03 6:41 PM
There is no "war on terror." The invasion and occupation of Iraq are not part of a "war on terror." Neither are the current threats and war preparations against Iran. The "war on terror" doesn't exist—no matter how many times the Bush administration cites it to justify its aggressions, no matter how often Republicans and Democrats debate how to best carry it out, and no matter how frequently it's referenced in the U.S. bourgeois media. text Sunsara Taylor: Drive Out the Bush Regime repost 2006-06-02 9:59 PM
I know everyone hates plot-spoilers, but the story line is overplayed and the ending is worse than lousy, so I’ll say it now: The will of the people will not be expressed in the 2006 election. (text/plain)

Will Debunking the Exodus “Myth” be Hollywood’s Next Hit?
Hollywood’s version of “The Da Vinci Code” is out. Many Christians consider it a sacrilege. The Vatican and the Opus Dei organization are the bad guys in the flick, which claims Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and had a child by him. Interestedly, there is also plenty of evidence that the Exodus story is a fantasy concocted by Jewish scribes. Question: Do you think Hollywood will ever do a movie debunking Israel’s claim to the lands of the Palestinians? (image/jpeg)

...All by its lonesome, the federal government extracts over Two Trillion Dollars from us every single year. Yet, with all this unthinkable wealth, it has been incapable of reducing poverty, improving our schools, preventing 9-11, catching those who perpetrated the attacks, making health care affordable, reducing crime, and so on.
