Public Housing Press Conference - 7-17 at the Lafitte
Gathered on the steps of one apartment just feet away from the busy N. Claiborne Avenue thoroughfare in the city’s Treme neighborhood, the crowd spoke about the city’s dire need for affordable housing as well as their personal plights since Katrina hit. But few of the residents seemed to lay blame on the storm. Instead they pointed toward the city and the housing authority, and wealthy developers who they say want the valuable land that the Lafitte sits upon. (image/gif)

Expert Swears He Wrote an Election Fix for Florida. During an interview with Maryland's US Senate candidate, Kevin Zeese, cofounder of VoteTrustUSA and leader of TrueVoteMD, the subject of the sad state of Maryland's election process was broached. That interview and the suppositions presented in Common Cause's report of 17 states (LA & MD included in the 17 states) being at high risk for compromised election results formed the beginning basis for this article. text Lebanon, Iran, Sudan: Three more premeditated neocon wars FactsPlease 2006-07-15 6:24 PM
Before emotions get the upper hand, let's consider what General Wesley Clark wrote in 2003--that by late 2001, the Neocon-led Pentagon was planning a five-year campaign of wars against seven countries: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Somalia and Sudan. (And let's not expect to hear about this from Lieberman, McCain, Pelosi, Feinstein, or the Clintons.) (text/plain)

text World War / Infowar Analysis Captain May 2006-07-14 9:22 AM
Chase Untermeyer US Ambassador to Qatar Ghost Troop Chaplain (Ret.) Dear Chase, I'm sorry I've been so elusive these last couple of days, as the last thing on earth I want to do is leave my former Ghost Troop chaplain waiting when he wants to meet. Alas, though, I can't help it! My cell phone has been misbehaving, and I just received your kind messages inviting me into Houston to have some coffee at one of our old hang-outs. I was wondering whether you were still coming to Houston for a brief annual visit, and appreciate that, now that you're here, everyone in the Bayou City wants a bit of your time! The majority of the "official" world likes to say that I'm an off-beat, off-base ex-intelligence officer, but the fact that the Ambassador to Qatar would favor me with repeated calls to get together and discuss infowar argues strongly to the contrary, and for this continued distinction from you I’m most grateful! As Ghost Troop has enjoyed a great recruiting spell lately, there are many readers to our ongoing and open correspondence who don't know you yet, so allow me to make introductions: (text/plain)

text FBI "has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11" Truthnow 2006-07-13 8:09 PM
Why does the FBI's "Most Wanted" poster for Osama/Usama Bin Laden NOT mention 9/11? According to the FBI, it's because "the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11." Might this explain why General Myers said "the goal has never been to get Bin Laden" and why Bush doesn't "spend that much time on" Bin Laden? No hard evidence--yet thousands of lives and hundreds of billions can be spent on "war"? (text/plain)

The Rev. Billy Graham is No Phil Berrigan!
The Rev. Billy Graham was in Baltimore recently doing his religious revival thing. For years, he was a crony of warmongering presidents, like Richard M. Nixon. Rev. Graham’s preaching never attracted me. However, the life work of the late Phil Berrigan, an ex-Josephite priest, had a profound influence on me, and others. Berrigan spoke the truth to power. He relentlessly took on the War Party and spent 11 of his 79 years in prison for his protest actions. (image/jpeg)
