A conference was held on 09/18/06 at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), in Baltimore, to celebrate the birthday of the U.S. Constitution. One of the speakers was Professor Jonathan Turley of the GWU’s School of Law. He accused George W. Bush of creating an “uber presidency” and violating the “Separation of Powers” doctrine. At a hearing Tuesday new evidence was presented that a key prosecution witness was bribed in the 1972 trial where Wallace was implicated in the murder of a prison guard. Wallace is one of the Angola 3, a group of black panthers who have spent decades in solitary confinement in the infamous prison and former slave plantation.
