Once called "battle fatigue" and "shell shock" Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), recognized as a clinical condition in 1980, has been a part of warfare for those serving in armed forces for as long as anyone can figure. People who suffer from the disease often experience vivid flashbacks so real some act out what they re-experience. Other symptoms may be feeling distant from others, severe depression, feeling unable to be happy. Having trouble falling asleep and suffering uncontrollable outbursts of anger may also accompany the disease. (image/jpeg)

Community Mobilizes Against Police Murder of Adolph Grimes
Darwin
2009-01-08 6:02 PM
Community leaders gathered outside the police station today say Grimes was straight up murdered and that a full investigation can only be the beginning of bringing his killers to justice. The immediate police response to today's protest was to send out multiple plain-clothes officers to observe the demonstration. One undercover officer in dark glasses and a ball cap filmed the scene, recording the identities of those present. At one point there were six plain-clothes NOPD officers on Rampart Street observing the protest, one officer for every four protestors. Such responses to even the most peaceable of gatherings serves to intimidate and scare off otherwise aggrieved community members who fear police will target them if they are filmed at a rally. In Boston, we are planning a day of coordinated bank account closures in at least two locations, and encourage people in other places to organize something similar.

Zionist Mass Murder: Break the Siege, Defend Gaza!
Internationalist Group
2008-12-30 3:57 AM At midday on December 27, Israeli warplanes launched a massive bomb attack on the densely populated Gaza Strip. More than 270 Palestinians were killed as wave after wave of U.S.-supplied F-16 fighter jets and Apache helicopters dropped more than 100 bombs. The Israeli military said they were targeting Hamas installations, but numerous civilians were killed, including a number of children, as schools had just let out for lunch. The Zionists' attack on downtown areas was deliberate mass murder. The Israeli slaughter was carried out with the full knowledge and a green light from its imperialist patrons in Washington, as well as U.S. client regimes such as Egypt. The Internationalist Group and League for the Fourth International condemn the Israeli mass murder in Gaza and call for action by the international working class in defense of Gaza and the Palestinian people, including efforts to break the siege.
