Jay Arena
2009-04-26 2:48 AM
As people in the U.S. and around the world make their evaluation of President Barack Obama’s first one-hundred days, many--that is, those that truly wanted a break from the racist, militarist, anti-working class policies of the Bush regime--are coming to the conclusion that the ‘change’ his campaign promised seems to have turned into ‘more of the same’. Drilling for war, offshore.
Ann Garrison
2009-04-25 8:01 AM
More domestic drilling, whether in the Outer Continental Shelf, or the Interior, will only feed the dirty energy infrastructure sustained by perpetual war, in the Middle East and in Africa Americans pay the highest gas taxes in the world---federal taxes, more than half of which go to the largest and most lethal military in history, to fight the War on Terror.

2009-04-24 10:57 AM The night is fuming that a late swig to slay the demons of the head is a method. Every turn on the sidewalk was exploiting, surveying twilights and it’s vengeance is uttering to the psyche so as those little anticipations in LA Café in Mabini, Manila. Spying bogus replica from the Interpol was phony fine, unarmed.

Ann Garrison
2009-04-23 2:48 AM
On April 17th, in San Francisco, Barack Obama's Interior Secretary Ken Salazer, held the last of four hearings on the extension of oil and gas drilling leases, into all 1.7 billion ocean acres in the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), and, on wind-and-wave versus oil-and-gas energy.
Salazar had traveled to Atlantic City, New Jersey, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Anchorage, Alaska, for the first three hearings, which were like this week's, videocast and then archived for review, as the public comment period on the fate of the OCS continues, until September 21, 2009. (image/jpeg)

The event was equal parts sales pitch and public hearing on a major new energy plan being proposed for the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) by the administration. (image/jpeg)
The problem with intellectually insecure whites
Stephanie
2009-04-08 7:36 PM "This is particularly a problem for college-educated whites. Like Fitzgerald's Tom Buchanan, such people have a strong need to feel that their ideas are respectable and part of the mainstream. But the respectable mainstream gives them absolutely nothing with which to validate themselves except perhaps the idea that the world will be a better place when people like them no longer have power."
