PFP Candidate Wants Same-Sex Marriage on 2010 Ballot
Stewart A. Alexander
2009-10-24 1:53 PM While most of the Democrats and Republican gubernatorial candidates are opposing same-sex marriage rights and the legalization of marijuana, Stewart Alexander has placed these two important issues at the center of his campaign. Alexander says the best means to achieve same-sex marriage rights and to support legalizing marijuana is to support a political party and the candidates of that party that has a strong record of support on both issues, “that is the Peace and Freedom Party.” (text/plain)

Ed Ward, MD
2009-10-23 9:43 PM Take the Pledge. It's free and the most it will cost you is a yard sign and a pledge unless you want to do more. More in this case would be spreading the 'Fixed Vote = No Vote' Pledge. The most you have to gain is a responsive government. Most likely the first in decades and close to a century. (text/plain)

My first direct action as a means for social change
Alison McCrary
2009-10-21 12:46 AM
Tonight, I participated in my first non-violent direct action. Though I’m usually passive and non-confrontational, I believe it is sometimes necessary to foster a tension that a community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue. Sometimes issues need dramatization so that they can no longer be ignored.
The action took place October 13, 2009 at Tulane University against Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. (image/jpeg)

In response, more than 70 demonstrators engaged in protests and direct actions both inside and outside the event, and were interviewed by local media.
