President Obama Divides the Nation over His War with Libya
Lynn Lomibao
2011-03-25 4:07 PM The majority of Americans are tired of wars and the cost to fight these wars as the nation sinks deeper into a national recession. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have already cost $1 trillion and after one week in Libya, the cost is approaching $1 billion. When Americans are suffering cutbacks and layoffs, and 22 million Americans are out of work, the question is “Obama, where are the jobs?” (text/plain)
LEO GOLD HATES BABY CHICKENS
Leon Ratticus
2011-03-25 3:57 PM Leo Gold is a criminally insane member of the NASD on crusade to ban light bulbs and promote a false religion that wants to connect a TV set to a fission reactor. The technology may be useful but the Gold crusade is about sharing false information for the purpose of financial gain in my opinion.

Military attacks against Libya/Resistance must rely on own strength
Astrid Essed
2011-03-24 11:29 AM
By applauding the Western military actions against Libya, the Libyan resistance doesn't rely on their own strength, but will be bound to either a Western occupation, or a far going Western influence, when Gaddafi is defeated

Paul King
2011-03-23 9:59 PM On March 17, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee approved House Concurrent Resolution 13, a measure that would unnecessarily reaffirm the divisive phrase “In God We Trust” as our national motto and encourage its display in all public andgovernment buildings. The resolution will now go to the full House of Representatives for a vote.

Permitting Culture Crimes
Repost from: Ashley Morris
2011-03-07 7:56 PM We stayed at Mimi's maybe 40 minutes and had a couple beers then headed home. I had just walked in my door, didn't even have it closed yet, when I heard loud chanting coming from Port and Chartres. "Let them go. Let them go. Let them go." I ran back out the door and ran into a man who had been with Eris who told me that the cops had tried to blockade them at Esplanade, then Franklin, now here at Port. When I walked the half block to the intersection I saw cop cars everywhere, cops with a kid face down on the ground and all had their batons out and their attitudes in evidence. The police were very clearly spoiling for a fight. (text/html + 1 comment)

V Day Housing Protest
Mike Howells
2011-02-21 11:32 AM New Orleanians joined in a national day of action to stop plans by the White House and the Congress to drastically cut federal housing assistance in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The protest also put the spotlight on HUD"s plan to "relocate" 263 units of low income rental housing from the Iberville Development near the French Quarter to the isolated and economically challenged Christopher Homes neighborhood on the other side of the Mississippi River. Exorcism Versus America’s Naïve Movie Industry (alternative movie review: The Rite):
Thor Thader
2011-02-20 10:35 PM Demonic “possession” is not necessarily a phenomenon that must be based on Christian beliefs in the supernatural; because to be “possessed” is to be unduly “influenced” by that which is not in the self’s best interest. If you believe in deliberately created lies fed to you by a secretly funded think tank, and you vote for someone who misrepresents his real aims—then technically you are “possessed” by influences inimical to your best interests. Plenty of people are potentially possessed of false beliefs. And therefore exorcism is not some lost and outdated art. It is in need more than ever, and not by the Catholic Church so much, as by the body politic at large. (text/plain)
