They read from two newly published SAC books, "The Long Ride" about New Orleans history and "Who Am I?: Reflections on Culture & Identity."
The book's will be publicly released and for sale at the Community Book Center (2523 Bayou Road) on Friday, June 3 at 6p.m.

Lawsuit to End Solicitation as a Crime Against Nature

2011-04-07 11:51 PM On February 15, 2011, a federal lawsuit was filed on behalf of nine anonymous plaintiffs against the Government of Louisiana to challenge the inclusion of solicitation of oral and anal sex as a crime against nature. This 206 year old statute forces those convicted twice of this offense to register as a sex offender for a minimum of 15 years to life. If successful, this lawsuit known as Doe v. Jindal would prevent people who exchange sexual acts for money from being lumped together with convicted rapists and child molesters as sex offenders.
