text The other New Orleans Christian Roselund 2004-05-27 6:42 PM
I always tell people that there are three New Orleans. The first, the tourist New Orleans, that inhabits Bourbon street, Decatur Street, The French Market, the major hotels, and not to forget the Swamp Tours, is what the overwhelming majority of visitors see exclusively. Second is white New Orleans, which is in the neighborhoods along the river, and which some of the more astute travelers see. And then there is black New Orleans, which you will only see if you live in New Orleans, or if you go to look for it. (text/plain + 2 comments)
