January 27 Stop The War Rally
mike howells
2007-01-17 1:32 AM Stopping the U.S. War on Iraq is a prerequesite for a just rebuilding of New Orleans. People who support a just rebuilding of New Orleans and an end to the unjust war in Iraq will gather on January 27th in New Orleans in solidarity protests against the war to be held around the nation on this date. The event is being held at the Federal District Court Building because, among other things, this complex houses the local offices of Senator Mary Landrieu and Congressman William Jefferson. The demands of this action include a call on Landrieu and Jefferson to vote against any additional funding for the war. People attending the march are urged to bring signs, chants, friends and, most importantly, themselves.
An open mike will be available for those who wish to address the rally. (text/plain)

why ray nagin doesn't want white people to stand up for public housing
mike howells
2007-01-08 8:32 PM Ray Nagin's criticism of non-residents who participated in last month's march by supporters of public housing on his home is, in reality, a calculated attempt to undermine the popular unity needed to secure the return of Katirna survivors to their homes in the Crescent City.
