Bolldozers reported STOPPED for another day!

2007-12-19 5:47 PM I just spoke to Bork's press contact at 12:40PM, and was told that she stopped the dozers for 2 hours, then more people stepped up and at this moment are still being hauled out.

 The homeless camp in Duncan Plaza (in front of New Orleans' City Hall) has grown significantly since the summer when it was first established. There are now many dozens of tents ringing the pagoda. Easily upwards of 200 are sleeping here every night. Duncan Plaza is just one of several large campsites in the city with other major sites clustering under the I-10 freeway. It is estimated that there are more than 12,000 homeless in the city. (image/jpeg)
