 In November 2007, New Orleans City Council invited Julius Nelson, a 32-year-old homeless man, to speak about how to solve the growing problem of homelessness. He profiled the demands and sentiments of the organization Homeless Pride, of which he was president at the time.  The Krewe Du Vieux parade came through town this year bearing the name "The Magical Misery Tour." As usual, the humor was "krewd", but dirty politicians were ultimately the butt of their joke. Without skimping on the political criticism, the parade acted as a much- needed catharsis and a celebration of an enduring New Orleans tradition. (image/jpeg)

Paint, adhesives, insulation, and particleboard used to fabricate the trailers may contain formaldehyde.
