Anarchy in New Orleans?
hrm
2005-09-01 7:42 PM “Anarchy Disrupts US Storm Relief”claims the BBC. “Scenes of Anarchy in Super dome” declares CNN. “Anarchy in the streets”. But what's really going on in New Orleans? Whether or not the hurricane itself is the result of human actions is questionable, but what is clear is that the chaos and death in the Big Easy are anything but the result of anarchy. Bush gives victims the finger.
WSWS (repost by Aaron Aarons)
2005-09-01 6:40 PM Here's a good commentary on the response of the putrid turd in the White House to the desperate situation in New Orleans. (I do disagree with the last paragraph, which implies that New Orleans should be rebuilt in the same place and at the same level!) -- Aaron Aarons (text/html + 2 comments)
Hurricane tragedy could have been averted
Larry Hales
2005-09-01 6:30 PM
Many in the big business-controlled media claim that the city of New Orleans was spared by the change of direction of the storm and that things could have been worse. However, had the city taken proper preparations, the loss of life, and the still potential loss of life, would have been averted. (image/jpeg)

Hurricane Katrina: The People Did Not Have to Die
RosaRL
2005-09-01 5:50 PM There was no way to stop Hurricane Katrina, but the chaos, suffering and death that resulted from this storm WAS preventable. Why didn’t the government organize massive and systematic evacuation? Why weren’t the levees maintained? Why were so many people left to fend for themselves?
This government has spent hundreds of billions for the war in Iraq – but didn’t evacuate a city facing a devastating storm that had been predicted for days. They got all kinds of helicopters and transport plans in Iraq but in New Orleans people were trapped in the city and stuffed into the sports stadium

Hero Fiddled: Mass Destruction For Real
Clinton fein / Annoy.com
2005-09-01 3:51 PM Everyone keeps saying that it's too early to place blame. There is plenty of blame to go around immediately. Right now, if America hadn’t exhausted its resources in the Persian Gulf, people here in the Gulf of Mexico might have stood a better chance. (text/html)
Christopher Hitchens Panders to War Parties!
William Hughes
2005-09-01 1:08 PM
Christopher Hitchens, the scourge of the late Mother Teresa of Calcutta, is at it again! The ex-Lefty has written a rant defending the indefensible - the Iraqi War! His main point: Saddam Hussein was a thug, so therefore the Iraqi war was justified. The Straussian Neocon, however, got it wrong! Under International Law, regime change isn’t a legal cause for a war. This is why Bush and his poodle, Blair, had to “fix” the intelligence around the policy. (image/jpeg + 1 comment)

DAJJAL BUSH TO 100,000 NEW ORLEANS HURRICANE POOR: DROP DEAD
Islamic Community Net
2005-08-28 12:33 AM If those 100,000 New Orleans poor are in fact concentrated in the Superdome and disaster then strikes, it will be the single biggest massacre of the poor since the real-life Vlad the Impaler (the Count Dracula of fiction) invited the poor men, women and children of his land (Transylvania) to dine in a building - and then set the building on fire to murder them all. And that would all be in typical character for the Dajjal Bush, who bicycled around his ranch in the days following last December's Asian tsunami disaster. (text/plain + 4 comments)

Bill O’Reilly Wants to Suppress Abu Ghraib Evidence
William Hughes
2005-08-27 11:56 AM
The ACLU is fighting in court for the release of all evidence that might tie high level policy makers to the Abu Ghraib torture scandal. The Pentagon said the release of that evidence will “increase the likelihood of violence” against U.S. troops. Fox News’ Chickenhawk, Bill O’Reilly, agrees that it is not only unpatriotic to do so, but that it would “help the jihadists.” He also smeared CBS, NBC and the NY Times for supporting the ACLU’s legal position.
