White House reporter, Helen Thomas, gave a talk at McDaniel College, in Westminister, MD, on April 12, 2007. She labeled President George W. Bush Jr. as a very “isolated” individual, and said today’s White House reminded her of “Watergate,” with the “circling the wagons” and “siege” mentality, She denounced the Iraqi War as “illegal, immoral and unconscionable, “and asked: “Why do Americans tolerate such a dumbing down of our country?” (image/jpeg)

![The Zell[ing] Out of the Baltimore Sun](http://neworleans.media.indypgh.org/uploads/2007/04/the_republic_is_not_for_sale.jpgthumb.jpg) Sam Zell, a multibillionaire and “committed Zionist,” will soon gain control of the LA Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Baltimore Sun, and 23 TV stations. Zell, an AIPAC supporter, has promised he won’t interfere with the news sections of any of the media outlets. I think he’s another Mortimer B. Zuckerman of the NY Daily News, who pushed for the Iraqi War. America--prepare for a “Dark Age!” (image/jpeg)

The March and rally was one of the largest in recent months and it further demonstrated the growing momentum of the immigration rights movement.

Locals Protest Vulture Capitalists and the Iraqi War

On March 19, 2007, the Baltimore City Council unanimously approved a Resolution condemning the Iraqi War, the lies that got us into it, George W. Bush’s insane “Surge,” and demanded the troops be “safely” withdrawn from that conflict. On that same night, a Peace Rally was held at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church. The Rev. Heber Brown III said: “It’s time for us to raise hell for peace in our churches.” The event was sponsored by the local UPJ group. (image/jpeg)

"Laissez-les grandir ici!" (Let these kids grow up here!)
Here is a short film that has been seen over 80,000 times on the internet and thousands more in cinemas in France, where, through the eyes and voices of children, it questions again the politics of deportation of so-called "illegal" immigrants – this is the midst of the election campaigns. A national petition is gaining momentum and may well gather more signatures than last year's civil disobedience campaign "Nous les prenons sous notre protection" (We will protect them)

“Has Sen. Barbara Mikulski Lost Her Soul?”
William Hughes
2007-03-26 1:50 AM
Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) voted against the Iraqi War. But, since then, she has acted like an agent of the Bush-Cheney Gang by consistently voting to fund it to the tune of $411.3 billion. Mikulski says she “cares about the troops,” but Peace advocates in Maryland think that she has “lost her soul.” They wonder when Mikulski is going to say: “Stop this war!” She has ignored the mandate of the Nov. 7, 2006 election. Iraq is now Sen. Mikulski’s War! (image/jpeg)
