Paola Martinez
2011-10-04 3:22 PM
“We are all born free and equal” is a human right, but unfortunately, not all people are treated equally in every corner of the globe. In fact, there is some form of discrimination, slavery or injustice no matter where we look. It may be in forms of bullying, human trafficking, hunger or lack of education, but there are human rights violations every day.

U.S. Election 2012- Stewart Alexander: Media Creating an Obama, Perry Race
Lynn Lomibao
2011-09-23 3:38 PM With all the media attention, Rick Perry is probably the least qualified of all the Republican presidential candidates to head the Republican Party’s ticket for president. His lack of leadership as a governor is only rivaled by Obama’s lack of leadership as president, according to Stewart Alexander. “To create a presidential race, the U.S. corporate media is creating more focus on style, rather than substance, and Perry has a very poor record as the Governor of Texas.” (text/plain)

What Real Reasons Have You Given Us?
Sudhama Ranganathan
2011-09-20 2:45 PM
Oh boy, American politics can be so much fun. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see how they're gonna try and pull it off this year. America is overwhelmingly disappointed with it's politicians, no big secret there. Reasons abound, but mostly, it's because elected officials for at least three election cycles have really come up short insofar as fulfilling the promises they made while campaigning. That more than anything else caused Americans to keep looking for change and both parties have kept proving just how inadequate they both are at coming through in satisfying the needs of the nation since at least 2006.</ (image/jpeg)

Free Troy Davis! There’s No Justice in the Capitalist Courts!
Steven Argue
2011-09-20 6:01 AM
Troy Davis was sentenced to death in 1991 for the killing of an off-duty Savannah policeman. Davis was found “guilty” based on dubious accounts that he confessed to the killing and questionable “eyewitness” identifications that included false eyewitness testimony coerced by the cops. Seven of the prosecution’s nine “eyewitnesses” have since recanted. The only holdouts are one man who may be the actual killer and another who initially denied being able to identify the shooter only to pin it on Davis two years later. Three of the eyewitnesses say their testimony was coerced by the police. New eyewitnesses have come forth identifying another suspect.

Bucky Larson As Fairytale: An Alternative Movie Critique
Jeffery James
2011-09-18 8:41 PM Bucky Larson: Born To Be A Star is, actually at times, a funny movie—although it is lewd, crude and cruel. Unlike most of today’s pornography it does have a storyline, some character development, and it is, at least to some extent, a sophisticated movie, even if it is awkwardly presuming about social acceptance. The acting is surprisingly good—especially Nick Swardson’s Bucky, the buck-toothed pornstar-want-to-be, with his fate of “dinky” penis but equally winsome, that is handsome, personality. But this movie is not about an individual so much as it is about the porn industry and its influence on sexual manhood. It is not a particularly good movie and brings to light so social issues worthy of consideration—topics of this essay. (text/plain)

Stand for Socialism against Modern Revisionism
Armando Liwanag
2011-09-14 1:16 PM
Revisionism is the systematic revision of and deviation from
Marxism, the basic revolutionary principles of the proletariat
laid down by Marx and Engels and further developed by the series
of thinkers and leaders in socialist revolution and construction.
The revisionists call themselves Marxists, even claim to make an
updated and creative application of Marxism but they do so
essentially to sugarcoat the bourgeois antiproletarian and
anti-Marxist ideas that they propagate.
