PORT GIBSON, Miss.—Public interest and environmental groups today criticized the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) environmental review of the possible expansion of Entergy’s Grand Gulf nuclear plant, calling it myopic and incomplete for downplaying the importance of the increased impact a new reactor will have on minority and low-income populations in Claiborne County and ignoring issues of nuclear waste, plant security, and alternatives to nuclear power.
